Engineer Delali Escapes Unhurt in Warri, Delta State
In a shocking turn of events, Engineer Delali Jeremiah Tawiah, Managing Director and CEO of Great Field Industries Ltd, narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt today, January 2nd, 2024, while inspecting one of his company’s sites in Warri, Delta State.
According to eyewitnesses, Engineer Delali, a renowned marine engineer with over 19 years of experience, was leading a team of engineers on a routine inspection at the site when the incident occurred. The team had arrived at the site in the early hours of the morning, and Engineer Delali was busy inspecting the facilities when suddenly, a group of armed men emerged from the surrounding bushes.
The armed men, whose identities are still unknown, allegedly attempted to abduct Engineer Delali and his team, but fortunately, the police details attached to him quickly sprang into action, repelling the attackers and ensuring the safety of everyone on site.
It was like a scene from a movie, said one of the engineers on the team, who wished to remain anonymous. We were all just doing our job, and then suddenly, these armed men appeared out of nowhere. Thankfully, the police were there to protect us, and they did an excellent job in chasing the attackers away.
Engineer Delali, who was visibly shaken but unharmed, praised the bravery and quick thinking of the police officers who saved him from the kidnapping attempt. “I am grateful to the police for their prompt response and professionalism,” he said. “Their actions undoubtedly saved me and my team members from a potentially life-threatening situation.
Despite the traumatic experience, Engineer Delali vowed not to give in to fear and to continue working tirelessly for the betterment of the maritime industry. This incident will not deter me from doing what I love and what I am passionate about, he said. “I will continue to work hard to promote the growth and development of the maritime sector, no matter the challenges or obstacles that come my way.”
The incident has been reported to the authorities, and an investigation is currently underway to identify the perpetrators and their motives.
