Kaduna: Kagarko LG Chair hails Appeal Court Affirmation Of Gov Uba’s Election

The Executive Chairman, Kagarko Local Government Area, Hon. Nasara Rabo has hailed the judgment of the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja that reaffirmed Governor Uba Sani as the duly elected Governor of Kaduna State.

Nasara stated this on Friday while reacting to the Appeal Court judgment affirming Sen. Uba Sani as the duly elected Governor of the State.

While congratulating the All Progressive Congress and the People of the State, he stressed that Governor Uba Sani’s victory is for peace, unity, and sustainable development of the State and economic growth.

” This judgment is a reflection of the decision of the majority of the people of the state at the poll and it is a victory for democracy and our dear State.

” It has further rekindled the yearnings of the common man which was almost dashed by the uncertainties that preceded the political atmosphere.

” I am calling on the people of the State to set aside their differences and join hands with the Governor to build Kaduna State where all will enjoy humongous working relationships irrespective of tribe or religion.

” The Appeal Court verdict was an affirmation of the people’s mandate given to Sen. Uba Sani,” Nasara noted.

He started, ” The people of Kagarko Local Government will give their unwavering support to help in implementing the policies and programs of Governor Uba Sani for the betterment of all.

Just In:  Suspended Kagarko LG Chair Reinstated

The suspended Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State has been recalled from suspension.

In a letter of recall, obtained by our correspondent dated November 3rd, 2023, and signed by Clerk of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Barr. Sakinatu Hassan Idris ordered the immediate reinstatement of the Chairman, Hon. Nasara Rabo.

Hon.Nasara was suspended from office on July 25, 2023, following alleged misappropriation of funds.

The letter reads in parts;

” Based on the oversight function being carried out by the Ad-Hoc Committee on Local Governments,  the 10th Kaduna State House of Assembly,  Resolved and directed me to notify you that the suspended Chairman,  Kagarko Local Government Council be recalled back to his position forthwith. 

” The Ministry should inform the Hon. Chairman,  Kagarko Local Government, and the Local Government Service Board on the development. 

” This is for your information and further action,  please. The letter concluded. 

Sources who pleaded anonymity disclosed that 8 Councilors who carried out an illegal impeachment of the Council chairman and could not defend their allegation against the Council Chairman have been suspended.

The Eight Councilors include Hon. Danjuma Padalo Iddah Ward,  Hon. Adamu Abdulaziz, Kagarko South Ward, Livinus Makama,  Aribi Ward, Samson Hazo  Katugal Ward, Hon  Amos Egoh Kushe War, Hon. Idris Abubakar Jere North WardH,  on. Zakaria Musa  Kukui War, Hon. Rabo Musa  Kurmin Jibrin ward.

Misappropriation: Acting Kagarko LG chairmen debunks allegation against suspended chairman

The acting chairman, of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Mustapha Jidado has debunked the allegation of misappropriation of funds against the suspended chairman of the council.

In a letter obtained by our correspondent titled: Re: Kagarko Local Government Area Auditor’s Report on Review of Capital Projects From January 2022 to June 2023 directed to the Auditor General of the State, said the contract reviewed to the tune of Eighty-six million, two hundred and eleven thousand, six hundred and eighteen naira, twenty-six kobo (86,211,618.26) was as a result of omission of major items in the initial bills of quantity (BOQ), increase in the scope of work and changes in the prices of goods and services.
”Recourse was made to the Kaduna State Public Procurement Agency (KADPPA) for the review
”Vetting and subsequent approval were granted while Retention fees in respect of contracts paid were duly deducted and complied with 10% financial memorandum, ” The letter disclosed.

While on the Eighty Million, Three Hundred and twenty thousand naira (80,329,000), he said approval was given because of the urgency of need and public demand of work involved for the direct labour.
Ours corresponds observed based on the documents obtained, all the projects have their clearance from the Kaduna State Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA).
